cauliflower with curryspices

Processed with VSCOcam with x1 preset

first babyfood recipe! personally i am not a huge fan of cauliflower but i am trying to feed my kids all the types of vegetables, even the ones i don’t like. when i eat cauliflower i like it the most with a currysauce. this recipe is inspired on those flavors.

some guides tell to wait till your baby is 8- to 10 months before giving him or her cauliflower but the rebellious me tried it already when the twins were 6 months and they love[d] it. cauliflower can cause some gas in your babies’ stomach. you have to make the choice for your own whether to give it or not and on what age. and the same is true for the curry powder which i use in this recipe.

you need [for 8-9 portions]:
500 grams cauliflower
500 grams potatoes [peeled]
2 chicken thighs [you can also use one chicken breast, i only had thighs in pantry]
1 tsp currypowder
400 ml water
150 ml milk [i used cowmilk, you can also use breastfeeding or formula]

to do:
peel the potatoes [if they are not peeled yet], chop them in small pieces and rinse them well.

fill a large pan with the water and put yourpotatoes in it.

chop your cauliflower and rinse them well too. put the cauliflower up on the potatoes in the pan. then put your chicken on top.

now you can turn on the heat and bring the water to a boil. when the water is boiling turn the heat down to low heat put a cover on the pan when you did not have any already. because of the small amount of water the ingredients will getting done through the steam. using steam keeps the most vitamins and minerals in your veggies. it needs about 25 minutes to get it done [make sure your chicken is done! most important!].

when it is done, put everything in you kitchen machine [including the leftover water]. add the curry spices and the milk and blend. you can vary with the amount of milk to get the right substance for your baby. you can also choose to blend it with a mixer or with a fork, it depends on your baby.

make the portions and put it in the freezer. for the duchies: i use plastic trays, which are suitable for the freezer, from the action: four for 1€.

hope your baby will like it!

x.
