routine

Processed with VSCOcam with x1 preset

i wrote this when jack was two years old and the twins almost one year old.

when jack was born we had the intention to go with¬†the flow. no routine, no schedule, just go with the flow. i loved the idea of feeding on request, taking him everywhere we are going and letting him sleep when he wants, wherever he wants. well, i guess it works for other babies but not for mine [and also not for me]. after eight¬†months of broken nights and crappy eating i gave up. i was already three¬†months pregnant with the twins and i needed my sleep. i made a schedule and sticked to it, to the minute. you wouldn’t believe it and it sounds creapy but within four nights he was sleeping through the night, he was eating much better and napping twice a day, on fixed times. i think¬†my babies just need routine.

cauliflower with curryspices

first babyfood recipe! personally i am not a huge fan of cauliflower but i am trying to feed my kids all the types of vegetables, even the ones i don’t like. when i eat cauliflower i like it the most with a currysauce. this recipe is inspired on those flavors.

some guides tell¬†to wait till your baby is 8- to 10 months before giving him or her cauliflower but the rebellious me tried it already when the twins were 6 months and they love[d] it. cauliflower can cause some gas in your babies’ stomach. you have to make the choice for your own whether to give it or not and on what age. and the same is true for the curry powder which i use in this recipe.

A Day In Our Life

all the photos by jolanda boer

on an ordinary saturday jolanda came over to follow a bit of our journey, just for one day. she caught it so beautiful on camera, i am the happiest with the results. it shows our daily life. she arrived at 9:30am when the twins were sleeping and boy & jack were running some late errands. we first had a cup of tea together, to get to know a little bit about eachother, which was perfect. the twins woke up around 9:45am and jolanda was so sweet to them, they were used to her and her camera in just a couple of minutes. then boy and jack came home shopping..

our wedding [2014]

in 2011 i was 19 years old and i was in my third year of the education to become an agent or project developer in the real estate business. i was doing an internship at a real estate office where i learned all about the process of selling houses. this is where i met boy. it was on a hot summer day in september, i still remember clearly what he looked like when i opened the front door of the¬†office. the first thing i saw were his arm muscles [yes he was wearing a tee on a business appointment! something where i teased him a lot with when we got to known each other]. he just started his company in the marketing and photography for real estate and came for a sales appointment with my colleague. …
